Military Police personnel who served between the 1960s and 1990s will almost certainly remember the satirical and sometimes risqué cartoons of Sergeant Doug Scott (Retired), best known by his signature name Scotty. Many younger MP Branch members may be unfamiliar with this talented artist whose illustrations often featured military police themes. Read the full story about Scotty and view his cartoons here. Image adapted from the cover artwork of the Scotty Cartoons book published in 1974 to support the Military Police Fund for Blind Children. Used with the kind permission of Doug Scott. This is the first in the new "Looking Back" series of web articles that will explore various historical aspects of the Canadian Military Police Branch, Security Branch and pre-unification service police predecessors. We hope you will check back regularly to view future articles in this series.

GREETINGS ALL: I have received numerous calls/emails regarding the possibility of another MP Veterans reunion here in Summerside. The ISLAND MP’S once more will consider this great event to be held here July 25-28 2019. The last reunion held here in 2014 was a major success with 281 in attendance. For those of you who were here in 2014 I’m sure the memories are still with you. For most of us retired MP’S our friends from our past service are seldom in our lives as most live miles apart, A REUNION IS THE OPPORTUNITY TO MEET AND SOCIALIZE WITH OUR BUDDIES THAT WE HAVE NOT HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO BE WITH FOR SO MANY YEARS. Also, a great opportunity for our wives to meet, as with us serving members our wives were always at our side and made many friends over the years. In order to plan such a reunion, accommodations, venue and funding are needed but above all need attendees. The venue, same as 2014 has been secured as well as accommodations at the Loyalist Country Inn and the Quality Inn, all tentative of course, at this date. NOTICE ONLY: All I need at this point is a note from those who would consider attending, once we get sufficient numbers to confirm the event we will go out to all with the details and registration. Thus far without any notice I have 30 on the list. You will probably receive a number of notices from various systems so I apologize in advance but this is necessary to ensure we reach as many retired: CProC; AFP and MP’s as possible. A very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you all. Carl From the CFMPA RSM,
