​​Application are now being accepted for two $2000 scholarships to help offset the cost of post-secondary studies. Applications are open to the immediate family (spouse or children) of any CMPA member in good standing.

​​Candidates must submit, to the CMPA Secretary (cmpasecretary@gmail.com), a resumé of their personal and academic accomplishments and interests, in an essay of 1000-1500 words, outlining their career aspirations and why they should be considered for a scholarship.

The essay, a transcript of the two previous year's grades, and a letter of acceptance from a university or college must be received by the Secretary, not later than 30 June 25.
​Applications may be submitted in either English or French.

A 15% ($18) discount is available to CMPA members in good standing.

L'Association de la police militaire canadienne est heureuse d'annoncer que son programme de souvenirs de départ de l'insigne portefeuille de la PM a repris avec des modifications qui répondent aux nouvelles exigences de sécurité, telles que détaillées par le grand prévôt des Forces canadiennes. Tous les détails de ce programme, y compris les différentes options de souvenirs, peuvent être consultés ici.

Le 27 janvier 2025 marque le 45e anniversaire de l’extraction réussie de six diplomates américains de l’Iran révolutionnaire dans le cadre d’une opération secrète conjointe soutenue par le personnel de l’ambassade du Canada à Téhéran et la Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) des États-Unis. Cette histoire qui a ensuite été racontée dans plusieurs films, y compris le film à succès d’Hollywood Argo. Cependant, le rôle joué par un certain nombre de policiers militaires canadiens, qui ont été employés à des tâches de sécurité à notre ambassade à Téhéran au cours de la période de 13 mois précédant cet événement, est moins bien connu. Certains de nos policiers militaires ont même pris part à l’opération visant à protéger et à extirper les six diplomates américains. The CMPA is pleased to have provided funding to help allow the two serving MP Branch members, selected by the CF MP Gp, to participate in the trip and ensure an official CAF presence at several commemorative ceremonies held throughout the week. Captain Steve Keeble and Sgt Paul Hare proved to be excellent ambassadors of the MP Branch at these events. WO​ Michael Basica from the MPSS Det at the Canadian Embassy in Rome also kindly attended the ceremonies at Castro dei Volsci on 14 May.

Participants had an opportunity to visit the Cassino and Moro River (Ortona) war cemeteries in which thirteen members of the CProC are buried (six and seven respectively, at each location). At both cemeteries the MP Branch reps placed memorial wreaths, branch flags and poppies at the provost graves—a fitting salute to our fallen.

The CMPA is pleased to support this historic tour to help commemorate the Canadian Provost Corps' role in the Italian Campaign during the Second World War. It promises to be an exciting educational, cultural and culinary experience for all participants!

CMPA members in good standing, plus one accompanying person*, are each entitled to a $150 discount toward their tour package fees. ​​(* defined as a spouse, partner or immediate family member of the participating CMPA member).

The CMPA is pleased to announce it's support for a one-week historical and cultural tour in southern Italy from 12–19 May 2024. This tour has been tailored for members of the military police family (serving and veterans).  

​[Note: The tour has changed from the original June dates to May in order to better facilitate key tour events]

2024 marks the 80th anniversary of the Battle of the Liri Valley in which the 1st Canadian Corps—supported by several units of the Canadian Provost Corps (CProC)—helped break through the tough German defences and set the stage for the subsequent Allied advance on Rome. This tour will include visits to several battlefield sites in the Liri Valley, two Canadian war cemeteries where fallen members of the CProC are buried, and a number of other cultural and historical points of interest. A special ceremony and plaque unveiling is also being planned to honour Captain Tony Scotti and the men of No. 5 Provost Company (CProC) for their ​heroic actions in saving Italian girls from being sexually assaulted and brutalized. 

The tour package includes 7 nights hotel accommodation, 7 breakfasts, 7 lunches, 2 receptions, 4 dinners, daily guided bus tours, transportation from and to Rome airport, entry fees to specific locations, beverages, tips and taxes. Air travel bookings to and from Rome, and associated insurance costs, are an individual responsibility.

In September 1970, an article was published in Sentinel (the magazine of the Canadian Forces) explaining the role of sentry dog teams at Canadian Forces Bases ​Lahr and Baden-Soellingen in Germany.

The sentry dog program began in 1963 as an Air Force Police program, and transitioned to the Military Police upon the unification o Canadian Armed Forces.
