PayPal is Now an Available Payment Option

We are pleased to announce that Paypal is now available for CMPA members to pay their membership fees. A Paypal account is not required, you can use a credit card instead. Transactions are conducted in a secure manner.

Members with Existing Website Accounts

If you have already created a user account on the CMPA website, you will see your subscription options listed under the "Subscriptions" tab in your user profile. A number of members have already paid their fees for this and some, for future years by sending a cheque to the treasurer. We have compared the off-line database of members who have paid their dues to the accounts on the website and added the subscriptions to those accounts who we are confident belong to a paid up member. However, many website accounts lack enough detail for us to determine who owns it. If you have an account on the website and have paid your dues for the year, you should update your profile with enough information for the executive to confirm your identity. You should also email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it to draw our attention to your account and the fact that you have paid your dues.

New or Renewing Members

If you do not have an account on the website, you can gain access to many pages on the website that are only available to registered members and pay your membership fees by clicking here.

Retirement Badge Program

Retired members who subscribe for 5 years or more are eligible for the retired Badge Program. See By-Law 10 for more information.

Post-Membership Campaign

Once the current membership drive expires at the end of September, we will be disabling accounts that have not paid their membership dues, and users will no longer be able to create accounts on the website without a subscription.

As you can imagine, interest in this is very high, so we are asking that you do not inundate members of the executive with questions about it. The last building block required is to enable Paypal so that members can pay their dues electronically. It is already set up on the website but needs to be tested and integrated into the executive's workflow.  Please stay tuned and watch for further announcements on the website.

Did You Know?

The Thunderbird is the symbol of the Military Police. It is a uniquely Canadian icon that originated from a legend of the West Coast Indians. The Tlingit, Salish, Nisqa'a and Haida are some of the more well known tribes. The legend goes that a giant killer whale, Orca, was eating all the salmon and the people were starving. The elders summoned Thunderbird to help them. Thunderbird seized Orca and carrying him far off into the Pacific Ocean. When Thunderbird returned, he asked the elders how they would honour him. Thunderbird and the elders agreed that Thunderbird would keep Orca away and the elders would honour him by putting his likeness at the top of their totem poles, ever vigilant for Orca. Thunderbird is a symbol of vigilance and watchfulness, important attributes of the Canadian Forces Military Police.
